  PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

   

WELCOME to SRAE (Stroke Recovery Association of Edmonton)’s monthly Newsletter!  We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter “2010” with Family and Friends!  Now are you ready for yard work?

 

This SRAE – April Newsletter is coming out earlier than usual… because we want to remind everyone… you only have one more month… to get your registration in for SRAE’s upcoming 2nd Public Stroke Awareness Workshop entitled “Stroke… the Next Steps”!  With our Keynote Speaker Dr. T. Jeerakathil, Assistant Professor, Division of Neurology, University of Alberta Department of Medicine; Concurrent Sessions; Plenary Speakers; lots of information plus displays; luncheon; snacks plus “free parking” all for $15.00 per person!  This will be held on Saturday, May 29th, 2010 at Central Lions Seniors Recreation Centre, located at 11113 – 113 Street, Edmonton from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm!  Please see the registration form on page 3… you must register by May 15th to attend… so fill out the form… bring along a friend!  

 

Reminder - Monday, June 14th for our Annual SRAE Picnic (which will be held indoors in the ACT Aquatic Centre located at Rundle Park from 5 pm – 7 pm)!  It is a pot luck event…so you will receive a phone call from one of the ladies off the phoning committee asking you - if you plan to attend, how many guests you plan to bring and to let us know what you will be bringing (eg. salad, munchies, refreshments or dessert)!?  All the hotdog buns, wieners, condiments, etc. will be provided.  It’s a FUN time and it will be our last meeting until Monday, September 27th, 2010.  We hope to see you there… Rain or Shine!  

 

Another friendly reminder - if you are a paid member – Thank You for your “financial support” to our Membership!  If you have not paid yet – PLEASE see Fred or Alice Chow at our meeting and they will gladly take your membership money and get you paid-up and in “good standing”!  Our membership fees are very reasonable at $10.00 for a single person or $15.00 for a family… for the year!  We also welcome charitable donations and a tax receipt will be issued to you for them.  We are a “non-profit” organization but we do have some expenses that need to be paid.
